San Jose Defender Brandon McDonald included in January camp roster (Todd/Getty)San Jose Earthquakes defender Brandon McDonald was called up in to the annual United States Men's National Team January camp. The camp opens on January 4th and leads up to the US' first fixture of the year, on the 23rd of January against Honduras at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA.
McDonald earned this appearance with a breakout debut year for the Earthquakes. McDonald started in each of the 18 games, which he appeared, and notched a goal and assist for San Jose. Brandon's stellar performance in the back alongside Jason Hernandez created one of the most fierce back line tandems in the league.
Quakes fans hope however, that the University of San Francisco Product does not catch the same injury bug that Hernandez himself caught last season after appearing in the January camp.
