Frank Yallop, San Jose Earthquakes Head Coach
--
Chris Wondolowski, San Jose Earthquakes Forward
On the 93rd minute goal:
""Mentally, I've always pictured this happening, but I don't think it could happen any better. I couldn't script it out any better, 90th minute. You always dream of getting those last-minute goals, and fortunately I was able to get that."

Joe Cannon, San Jose Earthquakes Goalkeeper
On the Sustained Pressure by Kansas City:
"They came kind of quick, it was just a matter of staying big and doing my thing. Give the guys credit,I thought were a there were a couple gaps that we let in especially early on we were lucky that they didn't put those chances away and we got some saves out of it. Going into half time 0-0 we regrouped and had a much better second half. "
On what to take from the home stand:
"If anything, we take, we know for next year that we have to be more consistent at home. Last year, we gave up a lot of points at home and it's one of those things where we need to put that effort, night in and night out. In saying that, we still gave up some chances and we still need to solidify some things but at least we didn't give up, we played with a lot of emotion tonight and that's the most important thing."
Peter Vermes, Kansas City Wizards Head Coach
On where the Wizards go from this defeat:
"We go on to our next game. We just go back and train and get ready for next game, at the end of the day that's what we have to do. I feel disappointed for the team based on the fact that they worked so hard and deserved at least a point. We had two one on ones in the first half which we could have easily broke though and been up a goal early. Unfortunately, we give up a goal late and don't get rewarded for the work that we put in."
On pulling the Wizards out of their now six game winless streak:
"I'm one of those guys that thinks that at the end of the day, we have to come every day and have the right approach. I think today that the guys came with the right approach and I hope that they realize that if you keep playing like that, things are going to happen for you. We're gonna stick some of those balls away, we're gonna score some and hopefully we'll be in the lead in the first half and put us in a position to win the game."
On the desperation showed by both teams:
"I think we both competed on both sides of the ball, we were both trying and at the end of the day, they come up with the goal at the end. I have all the respect in the world for Frank (Yallop), I think he's a very good coach, but I think he would say that we deserved a point as well in this game. It's good to see the two teams still want to compete and fight and try to keep themselves alive for the playoffs at the end of the year."

Claudio Lopez, Kansas City Wizards Midfielder
On the Physical Nature of the match:
"We don't have a lot of points and its a difficult time for us right now. We are trying to fight and take points to win the game but its not easy. In the MLS, its really hard, every team wants to win and playing San Jose at home is difficult. They play very hard and they have good players and sometimes, this happens."

Kevin Hartman, Kansas City Wizards Goalkeeper
On where the Wizards go from here:
"It's always difficult to speak so soon after a loss and figure out what you take out of it. It's obviously frustrating but what is important is that we keep this in perspective. We have 10 games with and their is 30 points available, you're obviously not going to get all those but there is still an opportunity for us to get where we want to be. We're frustrated because we need to reward ourselves because we've worked very hard throughout the season from the preseason on. We've dealt okay with the coaching changes that happened in the last three weeks and we just really have to make sure that we don't get down on ourselves. We have to make sure that we don't start pointing the finger that we all look inward and try to rectify the situation the best we can."
On the Earthquakes:
"I think they're a team that is getting more and more successful as time passes. They made some acquisitions that have obviously been beneficial for them, they've got some guys finding their form at the right time of the year. Its disappointing that they were able to get three points against us tonight because they're a team in a similar situation that we are in that they're trying to work their way into stuff. We have to make sure that when you're not getting the three points that you're not giving them to a team that you're competing with. I think that San Jose is right there on the cusp of doing big things and I think we need to make sure as time passes and we get our opportunities that we're working along the same lines."
On the Wondolowski goal:
"The ball was played out wide to my right, it was a good ball in, (Wondolowski) was able to get to the near sided space before our defender was and was able to steer it back towards the back side. As a goal keeper you're making sure that you're near post is covered and everything at you is a save. You're gonna have to put it at a pretty good place and I think that they did. It's just one of those things that you're gonna a point on the road and things are looking okay but in the 93rd minute (you give up a goal). It's just tough because we need to realize that our chance is come and we have to be prepared for it. I really feel bad for the guys, I'm sure that they're gutted due to the amount of work that we put in and they deserve a reward. The fact that we haven't been able to get those point for ourselves is something that makes you feel bad for your friends and the guys that you play with."

Lastly, we close with a picture of a sign made from a Salvadoran family from San Jose that truly summed up the Quakes season from the loyal fans who come to Buck Shaw each week.
